LOCATION - HONILEY

PERMANENT ROLE

Our client is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer/Environmental Scientist/Engineering Geologist to join the Warwickshire based geo-environmental consultancy. Our client is a geo-environmental consultancy operating throughout the UK. Founded in 2005 they have grown steadily through difficult economic times to develop a diverse portfolio of clients covering both the residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. As a small business they are able to offer successful candidates an excellent opportunity to be fully involved in all aspects of geo-environmental consultancy within a highly experienced, skilled and efficient team of professional geo-environmental consultants.

The position will involve both field and office based works. An awareness or practical experience is required in all aspects of geo-environmental engineering from Phase 1 desk studies to Phase 2 ground investigations, remediation strategy development and validation of remediation works.

The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for the planning of field operations in terms of technical direction, health and safety and management of a range of sub-contractors. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of health and safety with regard to site works. Experience in managing subcontractors is required, particularly drilling contractors and plant suppliers. Experience is also preferred in working on active industrial and commercial or development sites. Experience and competence in logging to current BS5930 is required.

The role will involve data entry of fieldwork results, scheduling and analysis of laboratory test results and geotechnical and contaminated land interpretation under the supervision and guidance of senior staff.
A degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred; a Masters degree in a relevant subject would be an asset but not essential. Current Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card desirable.
Any shortfalls in the successful candidate's training or experience will be addressed by a period of in-house and external training on joining the company.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer to join an exciting and dynamic company that is looking to expand to continue to support our clients with some diverse and technically challenging projects.
