This  key  role  forms  an  essential  part  of  our  consultancy/  contracting  teams  who  are  designing 
and  implementing  the  works  and  gives  close  interaction  with  the  contractor,  regulators  and 
clients. 
 
Key Tasks: 
  First and foremost the RE’s responsibility is to attend all site operations ‘in the ground’, 
giving  clear  and  concise  guidance  to  the  operational  staff  through  the  Site  Foreman/ 
Operations  Manager.  Once  all  data  is  in  place,  the  RE  will  produce  a  validation  report 
and the as-built documents. 
  Understand  the  site  operations  needed  to  implement  the  requirements  of  the  approved 
Strategy and Specifications. 
  Supervision of remedial works. 
  Undertake contract administration and issue site instructions. 
  Assist  the  Contracts  Manager/  Project  Manager  with  the financial  management  of  the 
project and/ or projects and assist in monthly valuations. 
  Ensure that the  standard  of  workmanship on  site complies  with  the  contract  documents 
(drawings, Bill of Quantities, strategy, specifications etc).

  It  is  accepted  that  unforeseen  ground  conditions  will  inevitably  be  encountered,  in

knowledge and experience, then the works will be suspended in that particular area and

project(s).  
  An RE may be expected to supervise Assistant Resident Engineers and either one large 
project or several smaller projects.

Main Duties:

Role
 
Working very closely with both the team and the Senior Geologist, you will be primarily involved in geological data compilation for the various projects, as well as site supervision, data acquisition, quality control, interpretation, and reporting.
A proven ability to take geotechnical projects from site investigations and desk study through interpretation and detailed design will be necessary, together with a strong capability in analysis and excellent report writing skills. Experience of preparing geological ground models and of relevant geological numerical analysis packages required. Site experience undertaking geological mapping  and overseeing site investigation is essential and an understanding of the construction of ‘groundworks’ elements would be advantageous.
Typical responsibilities will include:
•       collecting, analysing and interpreting data including manipulation of  AGS database and related tools such as gINT

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional with a good academic record and practical experience able to develop a a broad range of core geo-environmental skills used to evaluate issues associated with ownership and development of contaminated land. Our projects involve work across all client sectors requiring investigation and design skills.

Key skills should include:

  • Basic technical knowledge of contaminated land with some geotechnical knowledge an advantage.
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ability to develop a Technical overview and project direction for contaminated land, geotechnical and geo-environmental projects.
  • Good project management ability.
  • Staff coaching, development and mentoring.
