Our Client has an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer, ideally located in the South East to support thier impressive portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects both in the UK and internationally.

Our client needs to increase their team to meet the growing demands from their clients, especially in the infrastructure sector (particularly rail, highways & water) and the energy sector which includes carbon capture & storage, renewable energy, low carbon engineering and nuclear power.

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will be a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a degree in civil engineering with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and hold or be close to holding chartered status with the ICE.
  • Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help develop and expand geotechnical capability by building on the existing portfolio of our clients expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

Candidates should have:

  • A strong academic background with a relevant civil engineering degree and ideally MSc or equivalent.
  • In depth experience in finite element modelling and analysis such as PLAXIS2D/3D.
  • Experienced in general numerical software such as Geostudio, Repute, Wallap etc.
  • Chartered status or nearing Chartered status.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets.
  • Proven geotechnical design experience.
  • Application of CDM Regulations in a design and ground investigation environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead geotechnical design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
  • Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
