Our Client is a well-established geo-environmental engineering consultancy undertaking both environmental and
geotechnical investigations and assessment. We are looking for a Project Engineer (Geo-Environmental) with experience to
join their team in Bromsgrove, with opportunities for professional development and promotion to senior level and beyond.

be someone who can hit the ground running, is motivated and eager to develop their skills and knowledge. You will join and
be supported by an expert team of engineers, directors, operations staff and technicians.
You will be working as part of an experienced team to design and deliver geo-environmental and geotechnical consultancy
services to a range of clients including residential and commercial property developers, agents, planners, engineers, public
bodies and private companies. You will have a varied and engaging workload, a good balance of site and office working,
managing and gaining experience on a diverse range of projects including ground investigations to satisfy planning,
contaminated land assessment, geotechnical design, remediation design, verification, Part 2A investigations, due diligence
surveys, and more.

Responsibilities
 Be familiar with relevant standards, guidance and legislative background to geo-environmental industry;
 Prepare health and safety documentation and implement safe working measures;
 Supervise ground investigations involving various techniques, manage subcontractors, log and sample soil
and rock, monitor gas and groundwater, undertake in-situ tests, validation etc;
 Schedule chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing;
 Produce logs (using Holebase or similar);
 Produce drawings (including in CAD);
 Write Phase I Desk Study reports;
 Write Interpretive reports (Phase II geo-environmental assessment, qualitative and generic quantitative
risk assessment, ground gas assessment, geotechnical assessment);
 Project management including preparing invoice breakdowns on completion;
 Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and suppliers;
 Liaison with sub-contractors and clients to assist in the delivery of projects;
 Prepare proposals for new work.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in the following areas:
 Preparation of outline and detailed remediation strategies;
 Familiarity with a range of remediation techniques;
 Verification of remediation works on site and preparation of verification reports;
 Earthworks and materials/waste management including CL:AIRE DoWCoP;
 Soil mechanics, determining characteristic values and calculation of foundation bearing capacities and
settlements;
 Liaison and negotiation with regulators.
Qualifications
 Undergraduate Degree (2:1 or above) in relevant subject (engineering, geology, environmental,
geotechnical).
 Postgraduate Degree or Masters in relevant subject (desirable, not essential).
 Full UK driving license (manual transmission).

Remuneration Package
 Competitive Salary (£25,000-£30,000)
 Twice a year reviews/appraisals with salary reviews as you become more experienced.
 21 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays (3 days reserved over Christmas shutdown) Holidays increase
with time spent at BSL/with promotions.
